Brings back memories of Punakaiki. All the descriptions of the landscape are lovely, and I like how you engage all the senses, reminding me that the elves would get a lot of info from smell and hearing as well as sight.

Wow, what great character dynamics here! I loved Crackle's foolishness fueled by her imagination, Otter being his usual annoying self, Foxtail surprising me again with her mature attitude and Brightwood being annoyed with all these kids she has to baby-sit. Wonderful read!

Okay, so my favorite parts were:
- Foxtail showing how much she's matured and that she has the making of a great future chief.
- Brightwood being exasperated with all these foolish cubs.
- Crackle and Otter getting on each other's nerves and still not being complete fools; though only just, being hormonal teenagers and all ;)
Can't wait for part 3!

What ho!? Do I see Foxtail acting like a responsible adult, and even saving a half grown cub from injury?? Now this is something Brightwood can brag to Windburn about! :D

Woo! Great addition to the exploration story. I really like Crackle and Otter's interactions here, and Foxtail's 'stepping up' really shines through Brightwood's eyes. The blowhole was a great diversion! And I wonder if Fadestar found a lifelong companion in Gurgleflap from her words... so excited to see what comes next!
