I admire Cloudfern's and Greenweave's patience here. I guess, many parents can relate and can provide a story of their kids and their pets. But most pets do not have such sharp fangs as Moonwing, I hope. ;)
It was great to see that Moonwing was the reason for Newt to move out. Or to make the final decision to do so. Still I wonder what Greenweave's and Cloudfern's initial reaction looked like..

This was such a lovely story to read. I really enjoy the warmth and closeness of Newt's family, and the tribe around them. It's really comforting, and sweet, to see how they all pull together to help raise the little owl. I love all the details about that too! You really did some research! So much fun to learn about the different types of feathers and such. :) It's such a moving story - or series of stories - about growing up, for both Newt and Moonwing.

What I loved best was that I didn't see that Newt moving out was coming. Yet in the context of the owlet story, it makes perfect sense looking at the totality of the piece that OF COURSE he would move out!! His owl flew and can hunt meat, Newt himself raised him. What better timing or symbolism??? Very well done!! And like the owl, Oh My Goodness, Newt is nineteen, not a cub anymore either! Great Job!!
