That was awesome that the two elves had more in common than just wrestling! Good thinking, Turnstone!! :D

Very creative use of stone-shaping magic! Love the twist in the mood, going from playful wrestling to life-or-death smoothly and attention-grab...ingly (that's a word now, yes). And getting to see Owl before, well, what most of the present tribe know of him, is always a good reminder.

I really like how this story shows us Turnstone's competitive streak. Still he is a good sport and does not mind too much when loosing a game.
It is a nice story arc from competition to team work. Pretty neat!

After that intro, it was neat to see that even the combined physical strength of Stoneback and Turnstone couldn't save the day, as much as the combined strength of their magic, and quick thinking.

I'm also struck here by the fact that Turnstone did have some peers in his tribe, in terms of size and strength. But he won't when he joins the current tribe -- he'll be so much bigger than everyone else. It will be interesting to see him adjust to that.

Nice pace to this story - I was caught and Held till the end. So vivid the scene of Owl pulling Wren into his lap - my minds eye could See the magic melding with the love to heal her. *Sob* Silly emotional me !

Phew! Nicely tight, atmospheric story here, there's a real sense of the rush and emergency, and I enjoyed all the characters - Turnstone's voice comes through strong, competitive, cheerful, but also solid and dependable in a crisis. And glimpses of Owl are also neat and always interesting to have. Quite clever to show such a feat that two stone-shapers are capable of together - makes me look forward to seeing what Turnstone with his magic would bring to the current tribe!

Nice to see Turnstone in action here. I like the dynamic with his uncle here and how you show his strength is not just brute strength but that he also has a good head on his shoulders.
Nice introduction to the guy. The way the story went after the fight was surprising. Till I enjoyed the first part a lot even though the second was so dramatic. I just liked the playfulness. made me think of Sumo as well. Nicely done, Heidi.
