Getting to see Kestrel and One-Leg's friendship develop over the years was great! I love the framing device of the bets and the many tie-ins with other stories. Really gave the stories a sense of time and weight!

This story really is a tour de force, a great idea, and very well-executed. I love how Kestrel and One-Leg stay as the core of the story, and their interactions are at the forefront, but that the individual scenes still drawn in so many other characters from over the years, some we still have and know, some who are long gone. It's a really vivid portrayal of the passage of time in the tribe.

What a great look at their friendship (and wow, nice work with the title too - very fitting)! It's fantastic to see both Kestrel and One-Leg evolve here. The scenes are wonderfully linked together, and tell so many story. It's really wonderful to see the softer side of One-Leg come out here and there as well. I really enjoyed reading this!

Woah! This was almost three and a half stories rolled into one. Kinda impressive actually. It's nice to see some friendships explored in the club altogether especially once that lasted this long. kestrel and One-Leg seem to have a very layback friendship but on some points you also see they do care about each other more deeply. I was glad to see this too and not just the two of them making bets.
One-Leg seems to be one clever guy indeed. I like how the two play off of each other.

I'm blown away by this, Lyn! When I asked for a story that outlined the friendship between Kestrel and One-Leg, I never expected so much! It was great to see the evolution of the relationship between these two throughout every century they've known each other (and it's easy to forget just how many that is!). So many creative ideas for scenes here...I think my favorite was the bet about painting Ice's head.

Again, thanks so much for this, it was wonderful!

Wow!! What a long, detailed, delicious masterpiece to read!! I love how One-Leg kind of GROWS into his cursing and personality! Also many snapshots of life in the tribe ~ who was around when during their lifetimes! Nice!!
