It really is nice to see these two in such early stages, especially Swan as a youngster. It makes me wonder if they became lovemates later, or if they were "on again, off again" for many years before they Recognized and had Herbfinder? That happens over 300 years in the future from here, and it does make you wonder.

I can't help it but Barkmoss kinda gives me the creeps here. It's most likely just me but there is something... sleazy about him when it comes to seducing Swan. *shudders*. (I'm also not quite the : starry eyes crush person so that always goes right over my head :P )

That aside I do like the idea of the prank and in a way how thinks seem to repeat themselves within the tribe, having the pranksters around and so forth. Swan comes of very nice and it's weird to imagine her that young. I always have that image of her in mind that Rachel did and it shows confidence and elegance. Here she truly seems young.
Aside from my ... little shivers regarding Barkmoss when he gets all lover boy, it's a nice story about a crush being released.
And man, that den must be a mess. XD

You've captured the "My crush really likes me?" feeling perfectly! As also the "having to work before you can have fun" one! Cute Ancestor Story!

I told you already how I love this story! Young Swan is at the same time much fun and thinking about her duties and I love these traits of her personality. And Barkmoss is very confident about himself here. It is a funnny story and I think it's very lighthearted!
Personally I like reading about the ancestors and I'm so happy that you included a very young Swan here because she lived a very long live and here you see her just at the beginning of it and not as an elder which is very interesting. I do hope she kept her insecurities a while longer because I think it contrasts very good with the picture of the "wise elder" I had of her before this story. Thank you so much!
