This reminded me a lot of the situation when two friends get together (unexpectedly) and the moment they are preparing for telling their whole circle of friends. Quite exciting!
The two of them are very sweet. Young Cloudfern is so happy and smitten with his lover. It is heart warming!

I really like this glimpse into Cloudfern's past. And Raven's. It makes me wonder, though, what he'll go through once Raven's awake.

It's kinda strange to see Cloudfern being the "young one" here in contrast to him being the more level-headed, teasing one in his current relationship. He dose show signs of it here, too, tenderly teasing, happy and light-hearted, as it is there is the feel of him being a lover who dose enjoy all aspects of a lovemating.
It's also very clear that this is something fresh right now even if they know for much longer than that.
They seem so content here and happy. What a warm and cuddely story.
As a sidenote.. I love the bets being brought up. I can see elves engaging in such a thing. Silly as it is I understand how boring winters could be to elves and how exhausting too. I bet a lot of close relationships are settled in cold winter nights (maybe not all for a longer time like this one).
Lovely, sweet story.

Awwwwwwww. So cute! I'm just sitting here grinning. You do a wonderful job of conveying that adorable new-love emotion here, and balance it really nicely with humour about the rest of the tribe and their gambling. It makes me feel all snuggly and warm and cozy!

I like the feel of this. Both tender and light hearted all at the same time. Now that you mention it I do bet One Leg won the largest bet but I think True Edge would come in a close second. ;)

You really captured the young love feeling Cloudfern has! It's also always interesting to notice that your loved one, as you are, is somehow connected to others in the tribe. Good thing elves are mostly open minded, or that could get, um, awkward. "Yeah, cuz, I'm dating yer dad." LOL
