And now Thumbprint gets involved in this mess of loyalities and betrayals! Love this look at Ingot and Blotter interacting here - they didn't exactly clash or click, which is an interesting in-between to get to see. Their personalities really came across as well as their ambitions (or seeming lack there of).

Oooh... one day, will all these stories be put in order and linked together for a RTH Book of Trolls? You write so vividly, the tension is palpable. I want to know what Blotter's hiding!

Interesting. Ingot seems to be a sharp kid. He seems to have a lot from his mother. I like the atmosphere you give here. You do feel a bit of the stiff and unwelcoming vibe that must be present to Ingot here.
Also I like how you keep us on our toes about what exactly is going on with Thumbprint. Something is rotten in the state of Underhaven.

Oh my, it gets more and more complicated with the trolls, and story lines get intertwined. It feels like a mystery story. And to be honest, never in my life would I have imagined to read a mystery story with trolls as protagonists. :)
As always, I am impressed by how vivid you show us RTH's troll society, Chris. Looking forward to read more from Ingot.

An interesting 'minor detail' indeed. :) I'm interested to see where this leads! I like seeing the different ways that trolls show their loyalty to house and family.
