OMG, this would be like me having a crush on a Math or Science professor!! When all I really want to do is study Creative Writing!! Glad Newt "dropped the course" and still gets to hang out with Longshot!

So happy for Newt to have archery off his back. I'm glad he was able to pinpoint *all* the reasons he'd been continuing with the lessons, and super happy he was able to talk with Longshot about it. This story had great pacing, and I especially enjoyed the conclusion.

It's great to see Newt's 'learning to use the bow' storyline coming to a conclusion - I really like how this story pull forth a lot of Newt's feelings into the light, both about his friends and about Longshot. I'm curious to see how this affects Newt and Longshot's future relationship + Newt's relationship with other elves who shall go unnamed for the sake of spoilers ;)

I'm glad this story is finally in the sack and ready. I felt very nervous about it and wasn't sure if I could express everything I wanted and in truth it did turn out a bit different then I originally had planned, but it changed for the better. Thanks for helping me to clean this up Amy and adding so much additional flavor to it. This story, like Newt himself, has came a long way to reach this point ^^

I really liked to see the every-day interactions here and to be shown that even elves have to suffer from misunderstandings from time to time. Newt definitely is growing up rapidly. It is hard and difficult to tell someone whom you do not want to disappoint that you are not into the thing they love most doing. I think he did a great job by standing to his opinion even in this situation. And I am glad for him that he could finally admit his feelings for Longshot openly.

I honestly threw my hands into the air and did a little happy cheer for Newt here. Such a lovely progression to his story!

I love the quiet buildup too - there's something really lovely in seeing the day-to-day interactions of the elves and tying in various tribesmates. I like how Otter has a thoughtful appearance here when he's being so inclusive of Longshot - and how you two didn't feel you had to emphasize his past hopes of a relationship with Newt in light of the new developments either. The hunting "games" were a cute touch too!

And Newt and Longshot's conversation, which feels like a long time coming, makes me all sorts of happy. Thanks for not leaving it hanging any longer! :D Hope to see more from these two in the future!!

I really felt for Newt here! Even in as fairly relaxed a society as the wolfrider tribe, it's hard to admit you have a crush! Even to someone who you'd think would be one of the least threatening crush-objects in the tribe. :) I like that Newt was able to take the step to admitting that staying with archery training wasn't for him, too. It must be hard when ALL your peers are into something that is so common and valued in the tribe, but it's just not your thing. I hope we'll see some stories in the future that show us that his friends are aware of the potential to grow away from him, and see that they too will put some effort into keeping up the relationships.
