Seeing how a bonding grows and comes into being from a wolf's POV was great! Windswift's reasoning for waiting to bond with Rainpace was very clear, yet very simply put and wolf like.

I always really enjoy stories that look at wolf-bonding and give equal time to the idea of the wolves as individuals, with their own wants, needs, and opinions, and ability to choose. It was really nice to see that initially, Rainpace's bonding could have been with one of several wolves, and how it developed so that he and Windswift accepted each other.

This was a nice read. It's an interesting choice to show the bounding from the wolf's side and that it went slowly and wasn't a lightning-strike-bound but build up. I did like the sense that Rainpace not being in his own center did throw off his future bound as well. Poor guy.
Nice look at this important topic from the wolf's perspective.

This was a nice pleasant read! It's good to see more wolf perspective, especially on the point of bonding.

I really like the pacing of this piece. I had to go back and read the Gathering Storm part again, but now that I'm refreshed I really like the wolfish look at the aftermath here! It's great to have a few more stories that tie into that arc, and this is a great one for personifying the unbonded wolves and Rainpace too. I really like that you've told it mostly from a lupine point of view, and it's a really different take on wolf bonding. It seems to work out well for Rainpace here, it's nice that he has a bit of bribery to use! Glad that they found each other here! :)

Lyn, once again, thank you very much for this story. I know it was a lot more work than you initially expected. And it seems me AND the SAT kept you busy. ;) You came up with a wonderful way to describe how Wolfbonding works or how it worked for Rainpace and Windswift. I really like the reason for Windswift's hesitation at the beginning: Rainpace's lost confidence, caused by his troubled mind due to the council's outcome and his feelings of guilt for Bristlepelt's death.
You did an overall great job. Many thanks!
