I thought the hairpiece would be for Honey!! ... But it shows that he views her as being one of his great friends if he couldn't wait to show it to her. He also used to be a doting father ~ perhaps giving more attention for the gift to Goldfinch than to Goldfinch herself!! And a very telling line in there ~ about the easiest choice not always being the best!

It's great to see a happy moment between Honey, Greenweave and Dreamflight/Goldfinch! With how things are in the Now (not to mention me being Cloudfern's player and thus having to think from his POV a lot) it's easy for me to forget that there were good sides to their lifemating - even if it ultimately was a bad choice on their part. I liked that you managed to convince me the gift was for Honey until the very end.

Also, I always love One-Leg's quips. He is so much fun :)

This was an adorable story and I like seeing Greenweave as a father and crafter here. Like many other's said it's neat to see the work spread and that sometimes you need someone else to do something specific for you because you trust in their taste even if it's out of their comfort zone.
I kinda liked how Nightstorm "got" him. creative minds and all and the interaction with One-Leg as well. It's a nice reminder that they are friends.
I also adore how devoted Greenweave seems to be here. He really puts all his heart into this gift and it showes so much love and care for his family but also love and care for his creative side.
The lines about Cloudfern were effective and I kinda had to grin when people kept telling him "You don't know what you want, don't you?" It might be read too much into it but I thought it might have been telling for his situation. Through he really seemed to be in the moment with his family here which was very nice to see!

My favorite things about this fic are the camaraderie between Greenweave and One-Leg, and that you showed how many elves have some experience with crafts they don't necessarily practice too often. Always nice to see Nightstorm; the poor girl doesn't get a lot of face-time!

I can so totally sympathize with Greenweave here, and his attempt to bring about the vision he has in his head. It isn't always easy to make that transition from idea to real-life! I like how he calls upon tribemates to help him do that. But I also like that even the ability to literally show someone else the vision in your head doesn't automatically mean the task is easy.

This is a wonderful fic! I love seeing the interactions of the characters here, and I love seeing how crafting is often a shared pursuit!

An interesting little story. Greenweave can be a bit underused in stories, and it's nice to fill in some of his past, when he was happy with Honey (though still working in that things were strained with Cloudfern). Interesting choice to have Nightstorm help craft something, but not using her usual talents.

What I like most about this story is that Greenweave asks Nightstorm to do the wood piece for him - it's great to see that he believes she would be best at figuring out what he'd like, despite not being the most skilled carver. It's a great compliment to her creativity and fits really well, I think! (And yeah, I just love when people use Nightstorm in their fics because I find it sad that she's so underappreciated.)
Nice interaction between One-Leg and Greenweave here, too, and I liked the details about Greenweave's work. And of course, the twist at the end was very cute! You can't fault Greenweave for getting ahead of himself in his excitement as a new father. Very sweet!

It was so great to see One-Leg and Greenweave interacting so easily here, and the descriptions of Greenweave are just wonderful! You can definitely get the new parent vibe from him, and he's rather cute in his occasional clumsiness. :) It's a beautiful idea, and I loved seeing the gift take shape, and the twist at the end over who it was for. Lovely!

Thank you for a great story and a wonderful look into Greenweaves creativity. I know how hard it is to tell some one about an idea you have but in fact you are not sure about it yourself. I think he was to excited to see his daughters hair grow out. Like most parents "oh i can not wait till she does this.. or that" Nice job
