I love when people have two unlikely characters interact! That was SO Thornbow and SO Foxtail! Glad she got the upper hand and kept him guessing! LOL

That Thornbow takes this opportunity to question Foxtail is wonderful. I like that we see his thoughtful observation and how he waited for the right time. Also appreciated, though, is Foxtail's evasion. I do wonder, though... does Foxtail really understand all the reasons she's doing it? And, I do wonder if she's beginning to actually enjoy that steadier side.

This talk has been long overdue, eh? Love how direct Thornbow is and how clever Foxtail dodges his question. That little vixen just knows how to get away from giving answers. ;)
She is way smarter than one expects at first clance. Seems she got a lot from her grandfather Blacksnake.

Sorry I'm kind of late on this, but thank you for this story. I would love to see more scenes showing the interaction between Windburn, Thornbow and Foxtail during the Fierce One's vigil. You just know with the baggage between father and daughter and the difference in personalities between Thornbow and Foxtail it couldn't have been a cake-walk. It's really hard to think about what the relationship between Thornbow and Foxtail would be like, even in the best of times.

I too really like that Thornbow questions Foxtail, here. For me, it's a reminder of how long Thornbow has been Windburn's friend, how he watched his friend go through the long and often difficult process of becoming chief. Yes, Windburn is usually guilty of taking things TOO seriously all the time, but you can't deny that he's been through a lot that was difficult, and had to make real effort to overcome those difficulties and his own doubts and actual opposition, to make himself a worthy chief to follow his mother. Given that Thornbow has watched all of that happen to someone he considers a close friend, it only makes sense that he would question Foxtail's more mercurial development. Good look here at both of them!

Thornbow and Foxtail are two of our elves that I haven't seen interact much (could be I just haven't gotten to those stories, though), and it was great to get to do so now! Foxtail's motives interest me and I'm as curious as Thornbow to see what she's plotting, if she actually is plotting anything. Great ambiguity there!

I absolutely love it that you've chosen Thornbow to be the one who has questioned Foxtail's maturity -- whether it is real, or whether it just a facade for some long-range scheme. It just shows how perceptive the quiet archer is! Love it!

I like this piece! It's great to see Foxtail balancing responsibility and keeping her playful personality shining through. It's an interesting choice to have it from Thornbow's perspective, I like how that hides Foxtail's inner thoughts, and gives her a bit of a "straight" character to play her humor/observations off of. I'm surprised there wasn't a stronger reaction to having snow dropped on him though! :)

Ah, it's always nice to see what the other watch teams are up to, and I really enjoy reading about what the others in the tribe think of Foxtail's recent changes. It's great that there remains a bit of doubt about her true motivations, and Thornbow obviously isn't really buying her growing up yet. But however she will grow up or not, looks like Foxtail still is having a lot of fun!

Ahh some news from another watch team. Foxtail might be bored but I still consider it a good thing. It's also interesting to see Thornbow and Foxtail interact and him questioning her new sense of responsibility. I did appreciate that he's not that easy to sway by her words and remained suspicious about her new found maturity here. It's also interesting how you keep us on our toes in regard of how honest her intentions really are.

That said, I'd have liked to get a bit more of Thornbow here. It was a nice look into Foxtail's change and how it's regarded by the tribe but I felt a bit as if she was outshining Thornbow here. Would have liked to get a bit more about him out of this too. ^^
