This was a cute little scene. You can really feel how Greenweave knows that, despite this being a different kind of love from that of a lovemate, that it's equally strong and true; and his momentary fear of Honey asking him to send his declaration of love, despite ultimately being unwarranted, was a nice glimpse into the conflicting emotions he feels.

So great to see how Honey's and Greenweave's relationship looked like at the beginning, shortly after they Recognized. His reasoning and the choices he made are so understanable when seeing them through his eyes. Wonderful!

Greenweave's decision to lifemate with Honey has always been a bit fascinating to me and this story cemented his reasoning to me. Pointing out all the history Greenweave has had with Honey was good, reminding me that Greenweave has had relationships before Cloudfern, just as Cloudfern had relationships before Greenweave. In short, this story shone a light on Greenweave and Honey's relationship that made it make more sense to me than previously, without making me question Greenweave's later decision. Kudos!

This feels like a really key story to understanding Greenweave and the many difficulties he navigates. It's important to understand that he wanted the romantic promise of lifemating with Honey, too -- that she wasn't the only one demanding it, that he couldn't have become entrapped in it if he hadn't idealized it and wanted it too.

Poor Greenweave really was caught in a difficult spot! It's wonderful to have a little reminder here that he was a willing participant in lifemating with Honey -- they both did give it their best shot!

That was a lovely look at happier times! I really liked seeing Greenweave happy but it still feels as if he's trying to convince himself. It certainly feels as if the love he feels for Honey is genuine, but he just can't forget Cloudfern, either. Like Mel said, it's so sad he couldn't have both :( ...

Very lovely, Lyn, I enjoyed seeing a more positive look back at that relationship!

Nice to have a story showing there had been happy times. Greenweave had to be convinced at some point that he did the right thing but I do like how there is this thin line of doubt within and that you get the feeling, the more you read, that Greenweave is trying to convince himself here that he did right and that he is happy.

It's so sad because I think he IS happy in these moments. It's just bad that he can't have both... the love he feels for Honey and the love he left for it. Sharing this shouldn't be so hard for elves :(

A nice portrait of their relationship here, Lyn. From a more positive /melancholic side.
