I liked how she was born in a willow grove and you make the connection that that was why she's named Willow. Also, the fact that she hasn't gotten her "grown up" name yet shows how poignant and meaningful it would be. Something epic has to happen for it to be replaced! Thinking: the parents have blond hair and she has brown hair. Sometimes wonder about how elf genetics "work" LOL.

Aw this was super cute! This is a lovely moment to capture, the first time a father gets to hold it child. I'm surprised he waited until Finch asked if he wanted Willow, with all the joy I read in his feelings and thoughts at the start of the story.

Thanks, ya'll! I think for me, the realization after 2 years of waiting was what got me... and it's one I know, b/c after each child, that moment of seeing and holding them right after birth is so poignant... the pregnancy doesn't *really* prepare you. :)

What a lovely little story. So we know now how Willow got her name. The part about Bowflight, who was too happy to speak was so sweet! I love this family!

Such a lovely scene! The way that you've described Bowflight's emotions, especially the thought that he was so overwhelmed with love that he couldn't speak... oh, beautiful. Very happy little read!

Ah, so that's how Willow got her name! I could really feel how overwhelmed Bowflight was by the moment and I love how basic you made his sending; it made his state of mind even more clear.

When I read your story, I just have to try to capture this moment between the first look of father and daughter. You described it that well, I really could imagine how Willow becomes her fathers little girl forever.

Another very sweet one. I like how you capture the moment he realized what just had happened and what just became of him with the birth of his first cub. It was touching to read this.
What a peaceful and loving moment for this new family.
