Wow. So powerful, and so concise. I'm glad you chose to intersperse the actual work with the bow with words others had spoken, and how they affect young Bowflight.

Wow, I never realized the pressures and doubts Bowflight felt. This is a really intense story. It shows you just how much he noticed, how much he took from everything he saw and heard.

Uff, never thought of Bowflight as someone being influenced by others that much. What struck me most was Stormdancer's acid words... guess elves are only human as well, eh? Must be a lonely world when one thinks of bows being better than friends...

The contrast here between the bow shooting and the comments from his surroundings, really made the inner conflict of Bowflight clear, without being too on the nose. Poor elf, can't have been easy to build up self-confidence with such messed up feedback from your surroundings.

This is a nice look into Bowflight's inner workings. I love the little glimpses of what he had to work through his mind. All these things could make a lesser man feel insecure about himself.
I can't quite say which part is my favorite. They all work nicely to bring up insecurity and a affection for the bow, since that seems to be the only thing he was absolutely sure about at this time!
The last is such bitter realization. I guess one I can relate too somehow.
