Ooh, right in the heart! Growing up can have its harsh sides, and people can indeed change, both parents and children. Also, it's great to see interaction between the elves of the tribe in different ways and in different combinations!

I found it pretty interesting that Evervale not only misses her mother's hugs but also thinks that Windsong was happier back then. How come the redhead said that?
Is is good to get a reminder of Newt's tragic past once and again... and it made me tear up a bit as ususal.

This really is a sweet interaction to go along with the artwork! And it's a good reminder that nothing replaces a mother's embrace; even though Newt has two very loving adoptive fathers, it's hard to fill the gap in his life left by Lacewing's long ago death.

This was a sweet one, Lyn. It's good to know that Newt still remembers his mother and the love he got and that he can share this with Evervale and she can share something as well. This seems such a peaceful and melancholic moment and it dose show a nice connection between the two of them.
I can see them both just cuddeling and remembering so clearly. It's really a sweet moment, even if a bit bittersweet.

Aw! What a bittersweet moment! In a short story you packed in the friendship between Evervale and Newt, the angst of growing up and the loss of Newt's family.
