I never commented on this? I loved and love it. It's so filled with delicious tension, and so well worth the wait (I know how long you wrestled with this)... And in the story as well. Foxtails impatient patience was incredibly well depicted. I'm glad she was able to help Encourage Newt to ask!

This is certainly the last thing you might expect for Newt's first time -- he seems so deliberate and quiet, that you would have expected him to seek out a quieter, calmer tribemate. But that's what makes this really work -- the sense that already, he and Foxtail were an odd pair of friends, with her trying to coax him out of the shell he naturally keeps to. It seems really fitting that she perhaps represents adventure and curiosity to him, and that makes her the perfect elf to take this next step with. Great look at a first-time. :)

Oi, I forgot to comment on this. I enyojed reading it. A lot! Most of all I liked the fact that you showed here - in detail - how the tribe handles the coming of age of teenagers and how they deal with their awakening desires. It was interesting to see how patient Foxtail was, although one could see it was not an easy task for her.
The new feelings and urges Newt developed that battled with his insecurity and shyness were very well portraited. It was easy to feel with him.

It's interesting to see this side of Foxtail - she certainly is growing up and is a different elf than we saw in stories set just a few years ago.

I, too, was a little surprised by the pairing here, but, then, again, I asked why I should be ;) Foxtail's certainly caught the eye of more than one person, and she's been under Notch's tutelage for quite some time, after all!

I agree that this pairing was certainly unexpected, but it was written believably and these two actually go really nicely together! I really enjoy your realistic portrayal of personalities and relationships, Angie!

Whoot! So happy to see this one up!
Sorry. Again late for the commenting game, but I try to make up for it.
Well I absolutely love the dynamic between the two here. It's really a friendship I didn't expect but somehow I think they are good for each other. A thing I wondered was, what Newt was thinking about when Foxtail stumbled over him. Maybe it was related to what happened in the end or was it something completely different?

Anyways! So exited for Newt. He's growing up, with all that belongs to it. :D I think Foxtail might have been a good pick for hi, He's not looking for something serious, just for the experience. :)

Thanks so much for writing this one Angie, and thanks to Whitney for "donating" your trade spot for it :)
It will be interesting to see where this friendship is leading ^^

Heh... well, that's definitely a shift, for sure. Such a sweet story! I really liked seeing this blossom between the two of them. They'd never really been a potential pairing in my mind but I like it. I was really happy to see Foxtail's relatively new maturity/responsibility and her playful mischievousness going hand-in-hand here. Lots of fun 'teasing' for the reader as well as these two. Can't wait to see where it goes from here!

YAYS! I'm thrilled to see this story, having heard rumors of its planning! This was a wonderful read, and pairing here is both unexpected and delightful!
