Aw! I loved this story, I enjoyed seeing Newt's curiosity and his helpfulness, even if he was helpful in a way he hadn't expected! I also really love how you gave life to muckabout, it was great!

Haha, lovely story! I really do like Cider, here. This story gives her lots of character.
And I am actually dying to know what the prank looked like Snaptwig played on her. ;)
What I also found interesting was to see Muckabout fussing over the little one, looking over Newt like a miniature baby sitter.

Hah, great to see even our sweetest, kindest boy gets in some mischief sometimes! And great to see Newt with one of his contemporaries, it's touching to see that he's always been surrounded by love even beyond his family. I was also very interested in this look at a craft that doesn't get much if any attention in canon, it's too easy to fall into thinking of the elves as always eating raw meat and berries, but it's actually natural that they'd experiment with ingredients and flavours like that - for all sorts of reasons, as Cider shows here ;).

Hah, I love how the core of this hinges on little-kid logic -- how eager Newt is to help, but how it goes wrong in exactly the way that kids and cooking often do. (I am seriously reminded of being a child and "cooking" in the kitchen, and patient adults kindly trying what I'd come up with.) And I love how Cider is so encouraging, turning his mistake into something useful anyway, at least to her.

What great interaction with the presevers (well, at least one of them - I'm not saying they're all the same or anything)! What Newt and Muckabout did felt very much based on child- and presever-logic. And I liked the twist at the end.

This left me chuckling, and glad not to be Snaptwig!

LOL! Wonderful. I had a feeling, somehow, that a 6 year old left alone with the bubbling brew would lead to no good! I find myself really curious as to what was going on between Snaaptwig and Cider outside. I loved the bits and hints we got in the story. Muckabout and Newt were precious together, 'helping'! And I agree, I love how you portrayed Cider here. Sweet, bubbly, mischevious and fun!

Wonderful story! It's just a fantastic little tale. It comes across so naturally too; Newt is really sweet and well meaning and it makes me so happy that there was a use for the wine in the end rather then it just being a waste - great twist! Muckabout is really cute here too; I hope we can see more of the two of them together in the future!

Thanks you two, and THANK YOU LYN!
It's always a blast to work with you. You do give me the structure to work with and I need this badly sometimes. It's just great to have someone to bounce back on :)
Muckabout and the interaction between it and Newt was mainly your part and I do like how this came out in the end :)

Aww, this is so sweet and funny! I especially adored the interaction between Newt and Muckabout - trust a curious cub and an eager Preserver to make a mess with all the best intentions! Cider comes across very likeable here, too, I can see why Newt liked her a lot! I wonder how Snaptwig had tricked her - and what he thought of the very special wine he got for it ;)?

Uh oh! That will teach you to upset the tribe's brewer, Snaptwig! This story is so sweet and shows how Newt was always a helpful, cheerful, good-natured elf. The interaction between him and Muckabout had me in stitches.
