This is short and effective. Farscout is such a rock for Goldspice, and you see it here well. He knows the loss of a parent, and they lost their Mother as well too many turns before. I'm sure Goldspice is grateful for the comfort.

Aww! Very beautiful way to draw these two characters closer together. I especially loved that you refered to Lynx more strongly than to Hawkcall, when talking of Farscout's own loss. Of course he would feel that way!

Short and powerful! I'd completely forgotten that they shared a mother, but I doubt I'll ever forget it now.

Oh, I always like to see something about this unequal pair of siblings. Both of them are so different... but they have one thing in common. How sad!

I particularly feel for young Goldspice here, given that her relationship with both of her parents was so different from Farscout's own experiences. I think in a lot of ways, she was closer to their mother than Farscout was, since she had the metalworking interest to share with Ice. But at least she does still have her brother. :)

Even with so few words, this drabble really makes me feel for these two, little Goldspice especially. I'm glad she had her brother to help her recover from this tragedy.

I love that you say so much, convey so much emotion in such a brief drabble. This is touching!

Great work, Matt! I really enjoy it when people take on the challenge of these tiny little ficlets, and even more so when they pack an emotional punch. Great atmosphere, and I like that you chose present tense - it works very well here.

Lovely work, Matt! I find drabbles like this very hard to do -- you pull off a very emotional punch here in just a few words, congrats!

Oh, Matt you were right. I think the picture we both had in our head dose looks a lot alike. I think this sweet short bit is very strong. It dose build up a nice atmosphere between the two half-siblings here.
