It must be great to have that confidence Brook has! "The dunderhead didn't notice me so I'll MAKE him notice!" LOL! (When I did that I always came to grief IRL!!)It would have been funnier if Rainpace turned her down and she got the wrong idea why! ;)

I love this story. I really love how you expressed how Rainpace was surprised and how you made Coyote and him interact. So much like my brothers. It really makes me want to pursue this story line and find out what all happened between Nightstorm and Rainpace.

This was such a sweet, cute, and lighthearted story! Poor Rainpace, just sure Notch is pulling his leg again... ;) I liked how Nightstorm went after Rainpace until he finally noticed her, and how shocked the poor guy was to find out it was true! Very satisfying end to the story, with them going off to talk to each other, and I agree, this encounter seems like it must have been very good for Rainpace.

Ah, poor Rainpace. It's not easy having Notch for a friend, what with half the things he says being a lie. Good on Brook for taking such clear action.

I love how this brings this period of the tribe's history to life -- when Rainpace and Notch were still young, and largely two peas in a pod, but how realistically, their friendship would have its ups and downs... like Rainpace feeling overshadowed by his more confident friend. I'm glad that Brook had the sense to see something worthwhile in Rainpace. :) This was a great expansion on the pic I did, and I'm really glad you tackled it.

This is a precious story! I really felt for Rainpace when he looked up and Brook wasn't there. I'm glad she actually was. I like the look at these younger years, and appreciate that Coyote is still much the same

I can't help but read this and want to just hug poor Rainpace! Living in Notch's shadow just ain't easy, but does have its rewards once in a while... ::wink::

Aww, this is such a sweet little story and a perfect companion to Holly's picture. I'm so glad to see this storyline continued, and I hope we get to see more of Rainpace and Nightstorm together!

Poor Rainpace, though, I really emphasize with him here. It's hard to stand in the shadow of a friend, and so it's even sweeter that Nightdawn really was interested in him :).

Oh, Heidi, thank you very much for this sweet story! I sooooo love Rainpace at this age and his friendship to Notch with all it's positive and negative sides. When reading his inner monologue one could definitely feel with him.
The interaction between Notch and him is great and Brooke's forwardness is exactly what shy, insecure Rainpace needed here.

Heehee, I always wanted to know more about the story behind Holly's picture. Poor insecure Rainpace :( I couldn't help but smile when he learned that Nightstorm really _was_ trying to get his attention.

Aww, this is sweet! It really makes me want to read more about Nightstorm and Rainpace back then. It's such a lighthearted little romance (?).
Poor Rainpace. I can see why he felt so insecure. I know these thoughts all to well myself, so it's extra sweet that Nightstorm,/Brook made the first step here :)

I feel so sorry for Rainpace here, it must be hard sometimes, always feeling overshadowed by a more charismatic age-mate. I'm glad that he found out that it really was him that Brook had her eye on. I'm such a sucker for these sweet scenes of first attempts at romance, I couldn't keep the goofy smile off my face while reading this.
