Wolf bonding sounds a lot like a popularity contest! Or at least like "The wolves don't like me" if you've been actively waiting for six years! Glad and relieved this rite of passage is over!

I love how calm he is except for a few moments when the wolf pup came out and they made the connection in person. I also loved the patience of Forst and Lynx, and that they didn't ask the name, you can tell they know their cub well. Its a very touching story.

What a beautiful story! I really, really loved how close into Moonmoth's head you took us with the bonding, showing the sending-feeling, and the sense of it being a relatively weak bond. It all felt so realistic! I also loved how his parents waited up with him so patiently -- but I do wonder, too, what did they know?

Awww... so sweet! I love that his parents did the dutiful, loving thing, sitting up with him as he waited and waited... as they must have every litter prior. I'm glad, though, that Moonmoth wasn't disappointed here.

I love that you chose this moment for the contest -- wolf-bonding is so important to the tribe! You can just feel young Cloudfern's anxiousness. A year feels so long to someone that young, and you can really appreciate how much he didn't want to have to wait a whole other year to make a bond. I also love that it's a family-bonding time, and what a lovely family these three make.

Aww, so heartwarming to see little Cloudfern with his parents. I felt relief right along with him to see him getting his first wolf-bond after a long time waiting!

Aww it's cute to see little Cloudfern with his parents. So touching to see them a a whole family and Moonmoth here as such a happy child.
I , too, like the approach that he wasn't sad about the wolf pups before didn't bound with him. It has such a feel from "he knew what he wanted from this":
Very sweet story, but it too left me with so many questions XD

Lovely, little story... but so full of foreboding, too. I start wondering what his parents knew beforehand.
I like that you did not start with him feeling sad about the other pubs choosing other elves. To get to know this with hindsight makes it an interesting point of viw on the things going on.

I love seeing more of Cloudfern in anything, and a young Moonmoth with his parents is just like having an Xmas gift all sitting wrapped and pretty underneath the tree! Thank you thank you! I do think, however, that it would haven been a little bit more of an emotional touch at the end if he were to walk away with little Spinner in his arms, rather than leave the her to walk beside him. You know how hard it is to put a cute little pup down, and that's got to be doubly true for a child who's been waiting and waiting and waiting to make his first bond! That's a quibbly stylism choice however, and doesn't distract me from the delight in seeing the fic itself!
