I don't know if it's a good idea to leave Crackle and Mushroom alone together... But maybe it's not so bad. Crackle likes scary stories and maybe she listens better to the stories Mushroom tells her, even if they are exaggerated because Mushroom is such a pessimist. And now I wonder what other stories Mushroom told her...

Crackle and Mushroom... what a doomed combination! Now I know where Crackle comes up with her horror stories and scary ideas. :)
Great idea to team those two up.

Visually, I like the feeling of the gravel and rocks being scanned by a child. I loved the lakes of Washington state as a child.
But more - I can see over Crackle's shoulder to the rock / weir den a few shorelines away; at the small fishing figures up in the air, but visible, enjoying an afternoon together. Niiice !

Mushroom is my favorite presever and getting to see it interact with Crackle was a treat. Mushroom having someone who wants to hear its warnings was both sweet and amusing, since it is a very doom and gloom little thing.

I kinda like how this seems to be the start of one of Crackle's very own character traits. Her abilety to see a scary story in everything. This makes me wonder if Mushroom did bring that to her. It's such a neat idea for this contest to show how MUCH a single preserver can form once view of the world.
Love how this played out and the end as well. Crackle might be doing good to listen to Mushroom. We often tend to overhear people when they talk of doom all the time but I like that Crackle considers to take some of it seriously.

Funny how a story can shape itself. It started out w/ the idea that Crackle might be able to scare Mushroom, but as we wrote, it turned into this. Not what I thought originally, but hopefully even better and more believable. And again, awesome working w/ Chris on this!

Yeah, I really like how Mushroom is vindicated here, and that Crackle gets that the little bug has a point. I think it would be easy for the elves to get in the habit of not taking the Preservers seriously, but they really do have a LOT of experience...

I think that's a good lesson for Crackle to learn - Mushroom may be all doom and gloom, but that doesn't mean it doesn't know things she should listen to. The challenge will be to determine when it's just being its pessimistic self and when not ... Great little story!
