I love this story! Chicory is a very good mother and Glow is just an adorable cub!
It gives you a good insight in everyday-holt-life and how education and upbringing of Elf-cubs works. As well as some insight in the dynamics of the wolfpack. And I really like how you captured the sounds. They really make the story alive! And the end is just charming. Lovely interaction between the familymembers!

Quite an adrenaline rush! It's a good reminder that wolf cubs aren't any more knowledgable about the world than elfin cubs.

I don't know if I would have even thought of this story if it hadn't been for Holly's suggestion/request about peppering in the bit about the wolf dynamics, and the general idea she gave for that. So I'm glad for that! :D I've always loved that old 'Going on a Bear Hunt' song/game myself! *grin* It was especially hard to keep up the rhythm and pace for the trip *home*, let me tell you! I'm glad you all enjoyed the story so much -- and I know it's not exactly modest of me, but *whispers* I like the end with Blacksnake the best, too! ;)

It´s such a lovely story! It is great to see mother and daughter together... although while reading I had the feeling Chicory was living her own childishness here a bit. Loved how they interact with each other.
And well, like all the others I liked the end most. Your writing style makes it easy to imagine the whole scene and Blacksnake's sleepy and grumpy face. :D
More of these!!!!

I just LOVED the way you used the old song for a hint of structure here! Also loved the contrasting personalities of the various wolves, it really made them feel like characters in their own right. And of course, I love the ending. :) Poor Blacksnake! But I don't see him truly complaining. ;-) (Well, maybe about Sleuth trying to insert herself in his lap.)

Going on a bear hunt...gonna catch a big one! I just had to laugh when I saw where this was going. What a great way to have fun with the old camp song.

This reminded me so much of a children's book story.... I can see the pages, the words, etc... :) The inclusion of the sounds along the way just made it that much more so!

That was a lovely read, Raz. I like how you create such a lively atmosphere by taking in some small everyday stuff around the holt, like noises from Goldspice's work and so on. Also liked the bit with Halfmoon. These little things really gave ths story something very loving.
It's also neat to see Chicory having some alone time with her daughter. I have the feel we saw more of Glow with her father then with her mother and I like to see them having a moment here.
Love the ending as well and the whole tracking lesson. It's very well written and a real fun story.

I especially love that last scene, with both Chicory and Glow diving into Blacksnake's den and his groggy but loving acceptance of such a COLD interruption to his sleep. Fabulous stuff!

That was very cute! A great look at Chicory teaching her daughter :). I especially liked the "sound effects" you put in, and the end made me chuckle. Poor Blacksnake, being accosted like that ^^.
