That was quite the entertaining read! These four were so funny together as kids, and that was such an elaborate story that Fadestar and Newt made up. I wonder if Crackle will ever use it to tell the younger ones in present RTH?

Very entertaining.
Like always when Crackle starts a story I get google eyes and wonder how she comes up with such things in such a short time. But Fadestar definitely outsmarted her here. I like how the girl rolls her eyes on her friend and starts an own story to show her how it is to set someones imagination on fire.
Elves are strange. It is so normal for them to accept the fact that two of them had lived in a completely other tribe hundreds and hundreds of years before ... and still there had been elves around during this time that all of them still know. oo

Really great way to expand on that picture, Whit! I love the idea of Fadestar, with Newt as a willing accomplice, trying to turn the table on Crackle and her outlandish scary stories, and I love that they're successful! (Clearly, Crackle likes BEING scared by a delicious scary story as much as she likes scaring others.) Otter's dignified retreat is pretty classic, too.

Ahh I really liked to see a story coming together with this picture. And it's such a nice look back at the now young adults.
Loved to see their personalities coming together here and playing off each other. Of course I'm bias and enjoyed how Fadestar and Newt began to ally and tell the story. And it should have been just Crackle's taste. Otter's reaction was just so teen like it made me chuckle.

Loved the attribute of 'Old Snapper' as well. Such an old and charismatic turtle ^^

Oh, great that you did a story to accompany that illustration! And what a tale it was - hilarious! I especially loved that we could see Fadestar and Newt as the storytellers this time instead of Crackle. I had to laugh at Otter at the end - "I've got better things to do." Real smooth, Otter!

I sooo enjoyed this story - and it goes so well w/ the illo! Great job writing different sides of the characters - of Newt and Fadestar the storytellers, and of Otter and Crackle the ones sucked in by it!

I have to say I wasn't aware of what a good storyteller Fadestar was when she was younger. Then again I suppose in comparison to the colourful stories of Crackle nothing seems the same. I have to say that both Fadestar and Newt telling the story really made it convincing to the others. Bet Otter won't want Turtle Soup for a while!

What a most excellent story-within-a-story! The interplay between the story of Dagger's foot and the reactions of the story tellers, the listeners and the turtle, flowed seamlessly into one another, which made both stories very interesting to follow and easy to keep up with :)

*laugh* I figured either you'd lost your mind completely, or that this story was headed the way it did! ;) I love how Fadestar and Newt worked together to tell the other cubs all about what happened to Dagger -- and I love the personality of Old Snapper, here. It perfectly fit the picture it goes with. :)

LOL -- "I like turtle soup"!
