Seeing the start of what I think of as the "default relationships" of our dear tribe is always a treat! True Edge having to go against his natural silence and need for independences to impress Snowdrop/fall here was brilliant and I love his interaction with her family. But I do wonder what happened between them a few days after, exactly, once the family hunt is over... Just another scene I'll have to look forward to reading one day :) Great story, love this look into True Edge's mind!

Such a sweet story. It's great to see True Edge channelling his intelligence and effort into focusing on Sunray and Snowfall here. It's really interesting to see the somewhat uncertain start of this relationship (and have Kestrel and Snowfall's past brought more into life!), and as others have mentioned, great to have some of the ancestors at the time included. Dreamberry and Snaptwig are great support here. Nicely written!

That's soooooo sweet! ^_^ I liked how Dreamberry was supportive and almost playing matchmaker here. :) And this story just makes me so glad (again) that True Edge WASN'T out getting killed or wrapstuffed or, at *best* "only" traumatized! It's possible Sunray and Snowdrop actually saved his life. :) I also love how True Edge was changing things about himself, and how he interacted with the tribe, to try to gain Snowdrop's favor!

I agree with Holly. It stung a bit to know what happend on the hunt TrueEdge missed out here. It seriously made my heart heavy to know that, they were so blissfully unaware of the horror and enjoyed this time.

Aside friom that it's nice to see more of the two now lifemates and how their love slowly grew and didn't happen in "eye meets eye" but had to grow. It seems fitting for the pair. I again love Dreamberry here in her calm and supportive way.

It's such a sweet story and makes the knowing of the date all the more painful.

Aw that was so sweet to see True Edge not completely sure on something and workings so hard to accomplish the task. It makes me happy to see him working to create a family out of a recognition.

What I loved most of all was True Edge's interaction with Snowfall's family. I really love seeing more about the ancestors in stories! And it's such a wonderful look at the early stages of their relationship - sometimes it's hard to remember they haven't been lifemates forever ;). Great to see True Edge receiving some advice from Snowfall's mother - it's just another example of how closely knit this community is.

I think... when I wrote this story, it pointed out to me how life sometimes happens... how you can be living and going about your day while elsewhere, something terrible is happening, that you know nothing about. How easy it is to see a story, especially a tragic one, and get so caught up in it that the rest of the world is forgotten for a moment (I know that happened to some at 9-11)...

Anyway, sorry to wax deep for a brief moment. It was a lot of fun to write this side of True Edge... a side we don't often see, and also to include some ancestors we don't know very well.

It's always interesting to see True Edge *not* have the answer for everything, and to have to rely on the advice of others!

I really like the sense here that True Edge has learned something about himself, even if he's finding it hard to put into practice -- but he's trying! It's great to get a look at Snowfall's extended family, too; I like seeing Snaptwig and Dreamberry show up in a story! And it's very poignant, too, when you realize what is going on elsewhere on that "family hunt" that True Edge stayed home from.

This was a neat little look into the past. It's interesting to see True Edge be the one to receive advice in the past about something he wants so dearly, when he's usually the one to quickly offer his opinion in the present ;)
