I love how imaginative the game is, yet how easy it is to understand, and fun it is to see the elves all playing it! It's a game that seems very wolfrider-ish, and yet also novel; and you can imagine all kinds of elves enjoying it. But what I particularly liked about this was the look at Newt as the younger kid longing to join the "big kids" (and adults) at their game. I grew up with a much-older brother, and I well remember the experience of being little and having to play with much older people... and of that drive to want to show that I could truly win the game on my own. I hope this served as notice to some of the tribe that it's getting to be time to stop thinking of Newt as such a "little kid". ;-)

I'm a sucker for these "underdog comes out on top" stories. I had a feeling Newt would end up winning, but you definitely kept the reader guessing right until the end! This was an interesting sport to read about, too!

I'm usually not big on sports, but this was very entertaining! The build-up to Newt being the winner was a nice ending :)

Thank you so much for this Heidi. I really really enjoyed it. There's so much to love about it. The description of the game itself was great and I LOVE how it seems the personalty of some elves comes through by the way they play it. That was such a great detail.
I especially like how Newt seems to be so analytic about the game. Studying every player and their habits and personalty. He's not trying to win with force like Notch or Willow but with using his knowledge to his advance. I REALLY liked that here.

I again also like how Fadestar and Newt interacted. With her having so much confidence into his skills and knowing him so well.

I really like this story if only for the fact that it gives a really good look at the game without one of the elves explaining it. It makes me really happy to see that not only did Newt get to play but he did very well, against some tough opponents. Though I'm not gonna like wouldn't want to see the bruises in the morning. >.<

Fantastic job describing the game! Lots of details to make it interesting. :) I love how Newt got himself on the team, and how it was Nightstorm who started arguing on his behalf.

Whoot, you go, Newt! Great to see him growing up and making it clear to the others that he no longer is a cub, but a force to be reckoned with :). I really enjoyed the description of the game, too - it sounds like a lot of fun!
