I liked how this hinted both at Foxtail taking more responsibility and the change in her after the loss of her mother, as well as how refreshing it must be for her to have someone to talk to that hasn't made up his mind about her yet. Also, Newt being his usually kind, comforting self was sweet.

I really like the sense in this story that Foxtail may be becoming more responsible almost in spite of herself -- that at first, she was perhaps playing at it just to convince others, but here she seems a little more resigned to it.

But even so, she's still so clearly Foxtail -- she'll never LOVE this kind of thing. It's an interesting reminder of the fact that Foxsly wasn't supposed to be great at this aspect of being chief... yet she was still a good chief, since she figured out the secret of delegation. ;-) I suspect, though, that one of the keys to delegating is that your followers have to respect you first, and THEN you can get away with shifting the boring work to someone else.

Angie, you already know that I love this story - and that I look forward to some follow up!!! :) It's neat to see how, even though our elves live in close proximity to one another, and are bound together closer than anything I can think of, that they can still not really know one another... and that friendships and relationships can start and develop. :) I hope that this is the start of a great friendship at least.

I told you before, Angie, and I am ashamed it took me so long to say it officially, but I love this story. I love seeing Newt here, exploring his "new" tribemates and trying to see Foxtail as she is and learn about her.
And I also like to see Foxtail in her quieter mood here, yet she still seems very playful and seems to have a bit of her own fun with the green lad.

Just love to see elves interact that we don't think of too often... and I hope we can hold on our plan with these two :)

I really like this story, and I just love how Newt has the attitude that he wants to be able to think of her as herself. I found it extremely adorable to read Newt and Foxtail interacting like this, with Foxtail in a quiet mood and Newt at the end taking the lead in something and being outgoing. :) I actually almost expected this story to turn out romantic for some reason! O_O Very well-written.

This is a very interesting look at Foxtail through Newt's eyes -- and I'm really touched that as she's here in this place dealing with memories of her lost mother, the elf from Newt's past that Foxtail first reminds him of is somehow *his* mother, Lacewing. Fascinating!

You created a touching mood here.
I love to see Foxtail`s soft/quiet/thoughtful side.

Oh, that was very nice! I really liked seeing Foxtail and Newt interact. I especially like that due to Newt's somewhat isolated position in the tribe as the one who doesn't know everyone from birth, we can get a look at Foxtail from the point of view of someone who doesn't know her well - and that she was showing him a quieter side while still conveying a bit of her restless character.
