This is a wonderful poem! It casts a very good light on how a wolfbonding works. And the much shorter lifespan of the wolves comes through; I think every wolfriders had the same thoughts about his bond from time to time. And Chicory sees her wolffriend so affectionate through his whole life.

Thanks, everyone! I'm so glad you liked my poem. :) It was a lot of fun to write, figuring out how to make the words and concepts fit the verses! I guess having such longer lifespans than their wolf-bonds is something wolfriders have in common with us and our pets, because I didn't have to look far for inspiration on this. :)

Aw, this was very sweet. You can tell these two really were bonded and enjoyed each other's company from beginning to end. I have to admit I got a little teary-eyed at the end!

A beautiful summary of the experience of having a bond-friend; I especially loved the "you're my elder and yet not" line - very striking!

This is such a nice look at Chicory's relationship with one of her bond wolves. Its so kind and full of love. You can tell that she really cared for Brownblur.

I like how you structured this to show each phase as its own stanza. A really nice way to encapsulate a wolf's lifespan!

This was neat. I really like this circle of pace and carrying. Very touching, Razzle.

I like this, Razzle... especially the stages of a wolf's life and how Chicory and Brownblur manage them. :) The touching part was how the cub went from being carried, to carrying, to being walked beside... :)

What a nice poem!! I really like the comparison of pace during the time. Must be hard for an elf to outlive the own wolves so often (mostly).
