Wow, you guys really caught the girl who becomes a woman and what's the older woman to do vibe!! And how it really WASN'T about the two boys at all! The entitlement vs. the Pay Yr. Dues mindsets!! Great job! Loved it!!

That was a roller coaster! Foxtail thinking everyone's against her goes well with the other stories I've read about her. You had her and Willow go from snarling almost-enemies to maybe-friends in a way that was dramaticyet easy to follow the logic of.

This is such a really fun look at old history -- Willow and Foxtail are two such strong personalities that it makes so much more sense that they initially clashed like this, than that they were firm friends from the start. I really like how that ties in with Willow's personality and what we know of her early years, too -- the way she has never had much time for cubs, to the struggles she had getting Notch and Rainpace to accept her. What's amazing, perhaps, is that the two DID become friends!

Oh, that was a neat look into the early stages of their relationship! It's understandable that Willow is annoyed Foxtail got so easily what she had to fight for but also Foxtail's need for attention and approval, especially with the realisation she got at the end, that she wanted to get along with someone so important for people important to her. Really got something of a pack-fight here. And their banter, especially about the boys, is so delightful. Watch out, Notch and Rainpace!

This really was a blast to write with Angie. It's always fun to look back and plan/wonder how two now-close-friends came to become that way, especially when one knows that it wasn't 'friends from the start'!

What I really like about this story is that I had the feeling two wolves are fighting for their place within their pack. I love the banter between the two of them and the feeling of well... two young females getting into each other's claws.
It's nice to see that Foxtail din't have it to easy to just belong to this group and it's interesting to think that things might have been different between the two of them.

Love it.

And I agree the development here is great. I really love it how Foxtail became such a complex character.
Another thing I' like to point out is.. I love how you managed the collab . You barely notice that it were two writers on this. Great!

I appreciate so much that it wasn't easy or natural for Foxtail to join the "pack..." at least, not with Willow - I think it is a good picture of what it must be like for those who are so long-lived... for things not to come as easily or as naturally as I might be tempted to assume. The character development here is great - knowing Willow's background, it's easier to see why she would make Foxtail earn her way... but I also like how she encourages and coaches Foxtail as well!

Great to read Willow's reaction to Foxtail trying to join her 'pack', I like that she's so tough and fair with her reasons, and Foxtail is so delightfully young-but-wanting-to-be-grown up! I love the progression from the fight at the beginning to the comfort and hints of later friendship that come out near the end. It's an interesting look at how these multi-pairings could work. And much more fun when personality types like Willow are involved!
