Aw this is cute, Grandmother watching her granddaughter build something, her different thoughts on her appearance and her her hopes for the young girl. I also love that you managed to get in her approval of Bowflight's parenting, its a really nice touch that I enjoyed seeing.

Interesting interaction between grandmother and granddaughter, even though it was onesided. I love getting a look inside the heads of the River Twine elves and learning more about Kestrel and her view of her family was great!

Ooooooooooh, now that's really not fair! I wanna know what Willow's making! :P I really loved Kestrel's POV here. Not only di dyou give us a very nice glimpse inside her mind, and a very clear image of what she's seeing from little Willow, but I pictured the whole thing *from above*, so your writing really supported that angle of view! :D The title is a really nice fit, too! Willow is so cute, stomping her little foot. Urgh! I hafta know what she's making! ^_^

I really like how this piece underscores the fact that children, even at a very young age, will show glimpses of who they will grow up to be. But, at the same time, they represent unknown promise. Willow's stubborn determination is on display here -- but as the reader knows, Kestrel doesn't dream of what fate has in store for this little bundle of potential.

I hope someone illustrates this at some point! :) It's really neat to see Kestrel watch her granddaughter and not join in this time!

I thought for sure I had commented on this!

That said, I really liked this little look at Kestrel's POV here. I like, as others have said, how she see's promise in her granddaughter. Makes one wonder what she would be thinking if she knew then what she knows now!

I also like the little glimpse you've given into how stubborn Willow was even at this young age. I'm dying to know what exactly she was trying to make here ;)

Oh, this was a lovely snippet, showing both a lot of Kestrel and of young Willow! I really wonder what Willow was doing there - too bad we will probably never know. But it was very sweet to see how Kestrel is seeing so much promise in her granddaughter :).

That was very sweet and very insightful into kestrel as a grandmother. It always baffles me through to think of those sexy elf as a grandmother XD

I really like the way you describe what willow is trying there and how Kestrel takes her own conclusions from it and sees a promising clever and smart youngster coming out of this. :D

Lovely reflection from Kestrel! It's interesting to see her watch a very young Willow, and I love the sense of promise that Kestrel sees in her granddaughter. :)
