This is really cute! I just love the ending scene! It's a really sweet story, and definitely an unusual dynamic between these two. It's really interested to look at these two elders when they were so young!

How ironic that Shimmer would end up having three cubs of her own!! I think the older elves had her babysit especially on purpose ;). Snowdrop looks like she's cut from the same cloth as Copper.

I'd forgotten which was older. I laughed seeing Shimmer's discomfort with the young cub being so calm, just not used to them I suppose. This was a fun little look into Snowdrop's childhood, I always wondered what she had been like as a cub.

It's so hard to remember which one, of Snowfall and Starskimmer, is actually older -- I would usually say that Snowfall SEEMS older, while Starskimmer seems perpetually young -- that it's great to get this look at them that reminds you of their history. It also underscores how very different the two are, even if they're relatively close in age. Even as a little kid, Snowfall is a personality type that Starskimmer can seemingly barely comprehend. So I really liked, at the end, that Starskimmer found a way to draw out the serious child and get her to have a joyful and childlike reaction to something interesting and fun -- that seems so emblematic of Starskimmer's greatest strengths. :)

LOL! This story is too, too cute! I really appreciate how responsible Shimmer was to send to Dreamberry before taking off with the cub; I'm sure any mother would appreciate that! :) It was so funny watching Shimmer just get edgier and edgier, while little Snowdrop didn't even have a clue she was driving her babysitter crazy. And as for the ending, something tells me that Starskimmer will have to get a lot older than an oak's age before she outgrows that!

Shimmer's initial unease around children is rather amusing, seeing as she ends up having three of her own XD Luckily Snowdrop is such an easy cub to cubsit!

No child is like the other and this story shows that - I can relate to Starskimmer's unease around children, not being used to being responsible for entertaining one and her surprise at Snowfall being so very different from herself as a cub is very understandable.

It's so interesting to see Snowfall as a cub - not at all like most of hte cubs we see these days... Snowdrop/fall was quiet and observant... and such a good/easy match for Shimmer on her first day ever cubsitting!

Poor Shimmer :P I can see how having a child around can be awkward. She did it quite well through ^^ ehe I agree. Snowdrop was a very easy kid through. Starskimmer was happy to not have a very hyper cub to stick around and try her babysitting skills XD

Aaawwww, how sweet. Really nice insight into childhood/young adolescence of two so different elves. I wish all littel kids would be so easily to satisfy like Snowdrop.
