Kestrel's true age was really clear to me as I read this and it also made me a little teary-eyed.

This is a very sweet, very beautiful poem. I love how you go from a happy beginning to mentioning times of dark sadness and loss, to if possible an even happier now at the end of the poem! I have to smile at the image of the three mates piling their furs high in the nest! :D I also thought it was clever to say she had forgotten even more than she'd seen and done to begin with.

This is a good reminder that high age does not only mean many experiences and wisdom but also many losses and broken hearts. Wonderful!

Oh this is such a sweet little poem. I like this simple heartfelt look at her life. It was summed up without looking too much at anything. Looking at her love, and a bit of the sadness. Its well balanced, I like it.

This poem really does have a lovely, lyrical feel to it -- very fitting to its subject, who has had sorrows as well as happiness in her very long life.

This is absolutely wonderful, Amy! I loved the rhythm, and the message is so beautiful - love making Kestrel feel young again! Yay!

This is wonerful. I notice in favor of this comment contest that the poems often go by unnoticed. What a shame. I really love this one. It has this calm feeling about it that seems to be all kestrel. Wonderful and I agree with Lyn. I like the idea of a full circle with her being young again!

This is such a beautiful poem! I like the summary of Kestrel's life, the image of it going full circle, and the idea that she is young again! :) Yeay, Kestrel!

Have I thanked you enough for this, Amy? ;) This poem describes Kestrel's life perfectly, both the ups and the downs, and the ending is just so uplifting. She has so much to be happy about now :)
