I love the name for Newt, Star-top, so cute!
I really like this story, how badly he wants to learn bird call. Though if I were Greenweave or Cloudfern I would snap. Though it was really good of them to explain to Newt why Dreamflight was behaving that way.

Greenweave and Cloudfern are such good parents, here -- comforting, but honest, and coming up with a good way to explain things so that Newt will hopefully understand. (My favorite part is the asides, proving that they privately have their own feelings on the matter, but they are wise enough as parents not to let onto that with the boy.) And Newt, ever optimistic! This is the kind of story that lets you see how very good for each other all three of them are.

Ah Newt, such a sweet cub, wanting everyone to be happy. Dreamflight is almost as tradgic a character as Honey at this point - I hope things get better for her and that she allows herself to mend, eventually.

I really really love Newt's characterization and how he finds hope to be helpful! :) I hope that he and Dreamflight ARE able to get closer!

I love the use of "star-top" as a nickname for Newt. :) I think it's cute... It'd also make a great adult name.

I love seeing the situation handled like this! The last line gives me a lot of optimistic hope for the future. I hope you're planning to write more in this series; I wonder where these two are in 'present' day? I love the use of 'star-top' as a nickname for Newt! And hinting at Greenweave's own sadnesses. I love how supportive Newt's dads are.

Oh, this was great! I loved the interaction between Cloudfern, Greenweave and Newt and the wolves - such nice details in all of this! And I'm very glad to see Dreamflight's behaviour explained to Newt so he won't be hurt by her rejection any more (or at least not as much). And maybe there's hope for Dreamflight changing her attitude - at least there seem to be some hints that she's more aware of her thoughts and feelings and that she's being unfair.

Great story, you two - I'm looking forward to see how this develops!

Suzene, again, thank you so much for helping me to finish this story :D I love what you did with the last bit. So much cuddly warm, familar atmosphere between them :)
And I like how GW and CF handle this as well like something between siblings and not between two random elves ^^
I just like how "full" this fels. Really atmospheric and full ov vivid details :)
No wonder Newt came to rest somewhen and can feel at home, with such a warm family to take care. I can't wait to see how this story will go on :D
