Beetle is so sensitive! And Willow means so much to her that she resorts to spiriting herself away and crying! Cloudfern, in a small shadow side way in stories, I've noticed ~ often it's "all about him". Hope he gets over this one! Nice to see Willow taking care of Beetle emotionally ~ it was her turn!!

I really like the sense here that even though Willow is the origin of the issue between Beetle and her father, there really isn't much Willow herself can do to fix it. That's got to be a very helpless feeling. It was really nice to see her dig deep and just figure out a way to help Beetle in this moment. I liked the idea that Willow has an imperfect singing voice, but that for Beetle, she's willing to sing if it will help -- that demonstrates her trust in Beetle in a nicely low-key way.

It's so nice seeing lovemates truly be themselves with each other; not the person they show the tribe as a whole, but the sides only a dear, close person ever sees. Very sweet.

Wow, this is so touching. I love seeing rough and craggy Willow drop her guard enough to comfort poor torn-up Beetle. I also really like seeing these tender moments between the two of them, since they are such an unlikely yet compatible pairing. It;s really nice to see the honest, every day love that is between them.

Well done!

Heidi, you know I love this story! It's such a balancing piece - showing a softer side of Willow, and a side of Beetle not often seen - the side that feels deeply and gets affected by things... makes me wonder how many other times she's buried herself in the furs on a hot day, or any day, to cry about something.

And Willow's solution was perfect! Unexpected, and beautiful! :) Beetle's very aware of how lucky she is!

Aww, that's a sweet story. It's nice to have these little snapshots of the two of them being so devoted to each other. Willow definitely drops the 'tough' side of her personality to be so tender to Beetle. Very sweet. I really enjoyed reading it.

Aww, this was lovely! We have seen a lot of how Beetle was caring for and helping Willow so it is really nice to see it the other way around.

So sad that Beetle has to stand between her lovemate and her family and Cloudfern still is so angry at Willow :(. I liked the touch that Willow blames herself for Beetle's misery but knows it wouldn't help Beetle to say so. I don't know why that detail stood out to me but it did.

Also, I really liked how she chose to comfort her - that fit very well in this situation and with Willow as a character! And don't we all have those memories to draw upon?

Oh my godnes, Heidi this was so sweet. I like everything about this one. The tenderness, the interaction. It felt so natural. Poor Beetle. It's a hard place to stand between your family and your lovemate :(
It'S so sweet to see Willow act like this. I never noticed before but she's a pretty masculine female without really showing it too rough, but this was showing it to me somehow. I can't explain it I just hope you know that I mean this all positive.
