I would never have guessed that Honey and Blacksnake would hook up, but after reading the story and thinking about it ~ who ELSE would she end up with (if only for a hunt!)? I love the primal carnal-ness of it all! I like the line where she feels like an elf, rather than a doll caught up in a role in a drama she didn't ask for and couldn't get out of!

Honey's seemingly never ending spiral of self-pity and self-hatred is almost painful to watch; not because it's badly written, but because I can't decide if I feel sorry for her or be annoyed with her (and I guess that's what Blacksnake flet during this too). I hope the events of this story cheers her up a bit.

Thanks for the comments, all. :) It was fun getting to do something that we thought would be unexpected, and that would show several different sides of both characters. I really like the idea that Honey is trying to change herself for the better, even if she has trouble with it now and then.

This story is amazing! I really like how it portraits Honey and allows her to show so many different sides of herself. I also like how the tension was resolved. ;)

Sometimes it's nice to be a newbie; I didn't see this pairing coming at all, and it just fit like a glove! The whole story is very well-written and it's got a nice flow. I can't wait to read more about Honey and I also can't wait to see how the relationship between her and Blacksnake turns out! :D

I liked how, at first, the events of this story can throw one for a loop just due to sheer unexpectedness. And then, one is left appreciating how Blacksnake has honed his people-observation skills over the years ;)

Great story... and an unsuspected development. To be honest this is the first time I understood Honey and her traits and the reason why she is who she is... although I would like to shake her most of the time, too. ;)
I was also surprised by Blacksnakes flirt skills: very forward and VERY clear without much space for speculations. I like! ;)

You know, that wasn't were I thought that was heading but it sure seemed to make sense when they got there. I like seeing the both of them cut loose a little bit and not be such sticks in the mud. :)

There is something about this story that I just love - Honey's despair at not being needed, revealing that she hasn't found anyone to roll in the furs yet, and through that a true sense of the isolation and anger she has. Blacksnake was a great pairing for her, in so many ways, since he seems like someone who knows exactly what she needs, and won't be drawn into her anger. I think the characters were fantastic, and 'eating nettles before she'd ask anything of Cloudfern' was a great line, I think that really sums up the feelings of one in her position! I like seeing some of the negative emotions that come up with her and how they're handled and where they come from!

This was... hmmm... So real! I *loved* seeing the "Now" side of Honey. And I especially liked seeing how Blacksnake can see past some of Honey's front to what she is really saying and really needing! :)

I agree with Mel - Honey is a very real character, with all those insecurities and doubts. But hoo boy, did I want to smack her upon the head 0.o!

I like that Blacksnake can admit and admire the things she had done to change even if he's still sceptic about her chances to succeed and her true intentions. Really great to see that she's making some progress :).

And good to see that she found a way to relieve some stress, too XD!

That was really a cool story. I love how real Honey is. She is what we never want to be like but someties just are and that makes er sympatic in a way. I can understand where she's coming from (even if it is just not true) but at the same time I want to shake her.

I will bit my tounge aboout some old phrases about what Honey helped in the end :P Let's just say It was good how Blacksnake handled the situation :D

It also was good to see Honey as a talented and captial huntress (even if still unexperienced.)
