I like the relationship-dynamic between Fadestar and Kestrel. You can clearly see that they are sisters and in many ways similar but you can see precisely the differences between them too! It makes it very realistic! I like how Kestrel is reminded of her other sister, her mother and her father when she looks at her sister and I like how Fadestar imagines which one of them she resembles the most. And of course I hope that all her dreams may come true in the future!

I love Very Long Walk-stories! Seeing the sisters bond and share stories of the past was both very touching and very interesting. I especially loved the part where they wondered if their father could see them; very moving.

This is a really sweet story between sisters. This is a really good long walk, it doesn't seem like it was like about things that were new, but things that were old but still important. It was lovely to see their relationship grow but sad at the same time to realize how much the two of them have lost.

Fadestar's choice of Kestrel as a companion for her journey of discovery (and the start of her passage to adulthood) is very fitting. I particularly liked how it wasn't just about seeing new places or having new experiences, but about revisiting important memories or hearing new stories about the past. It felt like Fadestar was making peace with the parts of her past that were taken from her without her getting a say in it; and finding out about parts that she was never old enough before to focus on. Things like the sister she never knew, or what her father and mother were like as a couple -- those seem like things that she was perhaps too absorbed in her own troubles as a child to really contemplate, and it's a mark of her maturing that she wants to fit them now into who she is becoming.

This was nice :). I really enjoyed seeing the episodes between the two sisters and how their past reflected in it. It had a nice, thoughtful atmosphere throughout, with a few light and some heavy moments - great balance. And it is wonderful to see that Fadestar really reaches some maturity here.

Slow paced, reflective stories are not easy to do, but you two really pulled this one off. You captured all of the teaming sub-stories very neatly. It's so great to see Fadestar allowing herself to escape from the "haunted child" role she has played for so long. It's nice to see her let her self grow up. And it's great to see Kestrel's history. Elders have stories too!

That`s a nice one! Really like the relationship of those two, more mother-daughter than sister-sister.... and more.

This is wonderful - it's fantastic to see Fadestar growing up, and glimpses into Kestrel's childhood and current life. It was a great walk through history for the sisters, and probably exactly what Fadestar needed. I love seeing how capable she's becoming as a young adult, and the way she won't back away from the challenge of scouting. I'm definitely waiting to see what else is in store for her! And I love how Kestrel is becoming more of a fully fleshed out character in my mind through stories like this, rather then just having 'glider elder' pop up first. The interactions between Fadestar and her friends at the beginning were a really nice touch, too. Great job!

I really like the history this shows us, and I think you both did a wonderful job building the relationship between the sisters!

That was nice :) I like the slow pace of this and how this is something very personal for Fadestar. It's also a nice view of the two sisters. I think you really need to look up the other stories to see how subtel but deep Fadestar's change is. She really did grow up into a mature girl here. It's nice to see her like this and it's nice to see the sisters becoming friends as well :)
