Oh my goodness, it's like one little thing (lightening) could totally wreck your life (Whispersilk). Glad Foxtail is taking it well! Glad she is growing up! Loved the last line about oak trees and capnuts!

Beetle's interaction with Foxtail felt very much like two peopel who've known each other for a long, long time, where one has started to change. The call back to the time when Foxtail was a little cub, scared of the storm, underlined the many years they'd known each other in a very easy, smooth way, and Willow's confusion about how much Foxtail actually was understandable. When you've known a person to act one way all their life, how much real change can you expect?

You already know that I *love* this story, Angie! :) It's been great reading the developing friendship btwn FT and Beetle! :) And the levels for Foxtail - how her earlier fear of storms now has a deeper, more traumatic piece to it... and yet - she's out in the rain, greeting Beetle. Beetle says she's sorry she was looking for Willow before she said "hi!"

I appreciate how, in such a relatively short story, there is a nice glimpse into the relationship between Foxtail and Beetle. Both characters come across clearly and it was an interesting little scene.

Oh, it's really great to have a companion piece to "Just a Storm" having a look at the relationship between Foxtail and Beetle now! I especially love the hints at how Foxtail is changing and that there are now more layers to her fear of storms. And it cracked me up how Beetle was looking for Willow XD.

It amaze me how much you get in this. The Building up pf a deep friendship, the hints of Foxtail's little changes to become a responsible chieftess (and how much it bores her to do the counting- It shows she got that it's important but still don't like it what makes this much stronger somehow)
And only now I got that fer dislike of storms now has a whole different level.

Really really great! I LOVE your writings!

I really liked the way this pair of stories showed the progression of Foxtail and Beetle's relationship -- how Foxtail sought Beetle out when young, and how they've become friends in the present. Nice idea to create a duology like that.

Ah, this is such a nice companion piece to "Just a Storm." And another nice look into how Foxtail is growing into a more well-rounded adult, even if it does feel like at this point she's still just going through the motions. Ah, well, she'll make it to chieftess, I know it. Very well done :)

I love the whole dynamic between the two here, and the first part of the story is my favorite. The line: "You know, you could give me a couple more words before you start looking to see if she's on my tail," just cracked me up. How many of us have done the same thing when looking for someone specific?

I did find myself curious as to what FT had discovered that had alleviated the fear mentioned in this story, however, because the reference to that 'remedy' was vague and tantalizingly out of reach. I hope we can get some more insight into this sometime :)
