Most young elves would be obsessed with getting their first wolf friend. Fadestar, ironically, doesn't even recognize when that happens for over an hour, I think! We do only see what we expect to see!!

Wolves with personality make me smile! Autumnleaf really stood out to me, as a character, and she completes Fadestar ina good way. It will be interesting to see what Autumnleaf can learn from her bond!

I love, love, love the interaction/sends between Fadestar and Autumnleaf in this story. You know, I'm really very impressed by the depth of character shown for Autumnleaf here. It's too easy to "generalize" with wolves sometimes (something I struggle with greatly myself!), but Autumnleaf has as much personality as any elf, which is as it should be. I have to agree, this story is very tender! I really particularly love seeing Autumnleaf having maternal instincts towards the cub, and the loners working together attitude, and just all of it! I found it very realistic that Fadestar was running off by herself to be upset, since so much focus would be on Whispersilk's immediate family for the loss. But then, as Whispersilk's student, it makes sense that Fadestar would feel her death really keenly as well. Overall verdict: I love this story!

This is a tender, well-written story. I *love* Autumnleaf here... And I'm glad that Fadestar has a wolf-friend that will match her for stubbornness... and hopefully teach her more about herself.

Nice to see two kinds of stubborn meeting up here! :) And I liked that finding a wolf-friend, something that Fadestar has anticipated for so long, didn't happen in the way she expected at all.

I like, in this, that the moment in this story isn't the stereotypical 'grand' moment (being vague so as not to give story spoilers!), but rather something that happens in an organic way. Nice job and nice read :)

Oh, I'm really happy for Fadestar! Even if it was nothing she had expected or wanted in that moment, I think it will be good for her ^^. And Autumnleaf comes across as a strong personality - their bond will surely be an interesting one!

And I really liked how realistic and intense Fadestar's grief was depicted!

Nicely done. I liked how you handled this, this scene has been a moment Fadestar has been waiting for, but it comes at a time when she can think of little else but her loss. How like life that is, eh? We get the things we want, but rarely at the time we want them.

I wonder how long it will take for Fadestar and Autumnleaf to ride together? They'll certainly make an interesting pair no matter what they do!

I like it how you linked the bounding to a happening in the holt ^^ Good for Fadestar she has a bound now too ^^
I also like how you showed another taint of grife and a very childlike one. Beining angry at the one who left us. Very strong and very fiitting for Fadestar. I recall her doing that before with Leather. ^^

Autumnleaf and her will make an interesing couple. But Geeze XD Fadestar IS a handful, isn't she`
