Poor Dreamflight! I'd hate to be getting caught in those uncomfortable social situations too; and you really bring her emotions across here. I do love that Newt can be so optimistic and persistent despite everything else - and I'm really happy at the resolution.

I got a clear sense of Dreamflight's mindset throughout this story, while at the same time having a clear idea of the other characters' emotions and motivations. Very well done!

I find the relationship between Dreamflight and Newt to be really interesting. I agree a bit with what others have said, that Dreamflight is acting a bit like a moody teenager here, but I am glad that by the end of story Newt has gotten through to her a little bit :)

That sucks for Dreamflight. Seeing how her father praises Newt, while being critized for Bird calling. Then to be asked by Newt to be taught, I can barely imagine how much it must tear her up inside. This story makes me want to reach out an give her a hug, and tell her that everything will be okay. A great piece of writing honestly.

I like how you build tension and how you soften it, but not smooth it, here, with this story. I can see the start of so many things - hopefully the biggest will be some repairs to the GW/DF relationship. :)

I find that I lean a bit more towards wanting to give Dreamflight a shake, here -- it feels like she's acting like a teenager, not someone over a hundred years old! I like that the ending is somewhat hopeful, though -- that Newt's persistence pays off and maybe it will lead to something good for both of them.

It's interesting how sometimes our youngest tribemates manage to break through the cracks and get through in situations where other, older elves haven't been very successful. I'm interested to see how this relationship evolves :)

I'm so happy to see this story up :) We planed it since I joined and I was so looking forward to it :D
It's so sad... I really feel for Dremflight. She really must feel left out.. It's really time for Greenweave and Dreamflight to talk... *sigh*
My poor Newt. He don't know at all what he got into. Through I agree with Mareike.. good she started to open up a bit -even if it's going to be a long walk...

I actually got a bit damp-eyed towards the end there. It's amazing how lack of communication can just make things more and more painful. Poor Dreamflight and her broken heart... And poor Newt who doesn't have the years to know what is going on beneath the words.

Aww, poor Dreamflight - and poor Newt! That's a really messy situation ... I'm so glad that Newt finally got through to her!

Poor Dreamflight! I mean yeah I feel bad for Newt .. but Dreamflight who just wants her father to love her that way and along comes cute little fluffy Newt who seems to want to do everything to take her place .. can't blame her for her petulance!
