I hope Brightwood's nightmares subside, even though I know that it *just* happened to her. Newt is a very good contrast now to what he was then, it seems she remembers him. Happy they found out the soul name!!

Confessional: these two scenes actually started out as part of the fic "Shaping A New Home", but then I realized they would form a nice little stand-alone, and could be rushed to print while I was still hammering out that other, longer story.

I loved the reminder that though Brightwood and her family share the same trauma, for them it is a lifetime past and for her it was *yesterday*. And it was so well-described how lost Brightwood feels in a tribe that has changed a lot, and when she sees something familiar - Newt - the reaction isn't what she expects to be either. The bit about Copper was a lovely glimpse of hope which sure will give her strength to deal with all of it!

This one is soooo wonderfully written!!! I really like how Brightwood reacts to all the new changes and what happened to her only one day ago (at least for her).
It is completely understandable her not wanting to meet all the new faces at once and on her first day.
Also liked how you handled Newts feelings in this situation. Poor boy. Very believable reaction as well!

The contrast between Brightwood and the rest of her living family, as well as her vague kinship with her fellow sleeper Newt. And having her child to anchor her down in the Now was a very nice and touching 'solution'.

It's always good to see more of the process of Brightwood adjusting to being awake! And this is a neat hint of Copper's oddity -- nice foreshadowing.

I'm so happy that this story left me feeling so happy! It was a great transition from trauma to hope. I love the emotions in your stories; they're always so deep and well written! It's a good glimpse to, of how Brightwood is adapting to the new faces of the tribe.

My favorite part of this, too, was also Copper's little bit. It was a nicely refreshing little bit of hope and optimism when there is some pretty heavy and freshly-remembered trauma for them to deal with.

Oh I liked that story. What I like the best is how the future (Copper) seems to make up and comfort over the wounds of the past. It's so nice to see the two of them together.
Brightwood seems very brave and through so traumatized. There is so much to say. I'm really curious how that will go on.

Poor Brightwood -- the trauma is still so fresh for her :( I'm happy baby Copper makes it all go away, at least for a while. So excited about the three of them :-)

I love this story... I like that Brightwood and Cloudfern deal similarly w/ the trauma of their experiences (Cloudfern sent his dreams out to others, too), and how she is comforted by others.
My favorite part, though, is little Copper, and the surprise she has for her parents.

Oh, Brightwood. She certainly has her hands full with adjustments. At least the final one in this story is something that swells her heart to bursting. The joy at the end contrasts so nicely with the fierce anger in the first part.
