Emberra Owen New! Entered: 2015-02-09 | This is such cute sister time. Talking about who Whistle likes, and dreamberries, sounds like a fantastic time to me. Though, the ending was rather unfortunate for them, such a lovely night ruined. |
Lea R. New! Entered: 2014-11-06 | What I like most about this story is, how fast a lighthearted trip for berry-gathering can become very dangerous! Suits the wolfrider-lifestyle! I love the playful teasing between Finch and her little sister, it sounds like they were very close. And I agree with others here, it's an interesting look at the relationships in the Tribe at this time. And Whistle's crush is a bit funny, when you know with whom she ended up! |
Megan McCarthy New! Entered: 2012-11-29 | I always like seeing more of Finch, and it's nice to see how close she and Windsong were. I definitely got scared for the two of them when the mother bear showed up! |
Lyn Cavalier New! Entered: 2011-07-27 | Again, the relationships in the Holt can be tangled... it's easy to read this and think that Whistle's parents were together in a lifemating... but really, Sunlight and Raven were Recognized... but he was Cloudfern's lovemate. Also of note... this story came from a teeny detail in Windsong's CIS that said she had a scar from an encounter w/ a bear. :) Wonder if she'll get Willow to heal that at some point. |
Sofia Lindström New! Entered: 2011-06-21 | Very convincing sisterly interaction, combined with the excitment of the bear showing up left me quite content at the end of it all. A nice little glimpse of the dangers of everyday elf life! |
Holly H. New! Entered: 2010-03-24 | I really enjoyed this especially for the interaction between the sisters, which is something we haven't seen much of before. It's really neat to see Finch teasing her little sister. :) And I also liked the glimpse of Suddendusk's pre-Recognition, pre-fatherhood reputation as a bit of a rake! We know that's supposed to be true, but it's cool to "see" it. |
Linda Aarts New! Entered: 2010-03-19 | We often pass by on the dangers the elves have to face dayly, and seeing how a simple berry-picking turns dangerous pushed me, at least, with my nose on that fact. Well-written, and yay for not killing mother bear :) |
Melanie D. New! Entered: 2010-03-16 | I like how it shows us that .. even in such a light, close moment the situation can turn into something grave and dangerous. I think I really like this the best. It showed me that in a wolfrider's life Joy and death can be only the breath of a hair apart. aAnother nice little detail is .. Suddendusk and Blacksnake and how that shifted and looking at the relationships today XD |
