This is a beautiful story for these two. It's nice to see them talk out the pain, and that each one has the other to understand them. It's a really great beginning to their strong friendship, despite the sad circumstances.

I really enjoyed writing this one. It was nice to see how different these cubs are and for that what good friends they made in the end.
I like so many little things of this and the most how it shows the forming of a close friendship between them :)

The contrast of Fadestar and Newt's personalities and losses were very intriguing - and their respective personalities really shined here. Very well written!

This is very sweet :). I really liked seeing that Fadestar was able to reach out to Newt and how optimistic Newt was and managed to cheer her up. Great that they are forming a first bond here!

"He didn’t want to play who’s fate was worse, and moreover, he didn’t want to be the winner of that game." Love that line! Very wise, Newt!

This is such a sweet story, such a neat moment in their lives to witness. I really like how Newt seems more optimistic here, and how he encouraged Fadestar! :) And the idea of Crackle being called "Squirrel," but how Fadestar says that would be mean!

This was a very sweet story. It seems natural that these two would seek each other out somehow, given what they've both been through, and it's nice to see a little friendship forming there.

Great stuff! It's very interesting to see these two establish a tentative friendship, and it'll be equally interesting to see how their respective bonds with Crackle (and Otter!) develop. Suddenly -- so many cubs in the tribe! It's exciting!

Aww, it's nice to see them together -- it's great to see Fadestar being a little bit brave, and how Newt looks beyond himself to help her as she's trying to help him -- good pieces of characterization for both of them! I also really like the mentions of the other children, like Crackle, and these kids' reaction to them. It's really interesting to have a group of children now, with such different personalities!

Very nicely done. I was wondering if these two would form a special bond and it looks likes its coming together. :)
