Love those poses! Fadestar really looks ready to give back as good as she's gotten. And they both look like they've been through a good training session!

I agree Whitney - there is a look in Fadestar's eye that just screams "payback".

Captured moments are hard to do - this one so rocks.

It seems more a panel from a comic than an illustration (in the best of ways) Meaning: it leaves our minds free to fill in the blanks, but also wanting More !

Nice work on the expressions! These two look like they're having a great time (though perhaps Fadestar is a bit winded at this point XD) Lovely soft colors, as well!

Peggy this is just great. I love the humor in it and the idea altogether. As the ladies before me said, the best about this is Fadestar's expression and her body language. She dose look as if One-Leg worked her good here. I like how this also shows that our youngsters do still have a few years of experience and training to catch up.
One-Leg also is great. He looks challenging but in a good-natured way. Clearly he's not coddling Fadestar (but also not overworking her). Love this one. And yes I also was reminded on Finch.

The idea itself here is a lot of fun -- Fadestar trying out different weapons, now that she's really getting to adulthood -- but it's really the expressions that make it! Both body-language and faces impart a real sense of story here. I love that you can tell that Fadestar is winded, but responding with amusement to whatever One-Leg is saying, and how he has a teasing and challenging look to him.

I'm reminded that an axe just like that was a favorite weapon of Finch, who herself was supposed to be small-statured, as Fadestar is right now. For me, it hints at a bit of tribal history, of legacies of past elves being carried on today. It makes sense that One-Leg would remember Finch, and think that Fadestar might do similarly well with such a weapon.

Oh yeah -- my love for Fadestar knows no bounds! I love that wicked look on her face, like she just took a blow that winded her, but she's planning on getting some payback... Lovely work here, Peggy -- as always!
