I was startled to realize recently that I had kind of mixed up this story with "Fight or Flight" -- things talked about here, I thought had been talked about there! I guess that is a testament to how this really is a continuation of the help that Blacksnake started to give Willow in that earlier story.

I really liked the double meaning of the title here, and Blacksnake's really good at talking some sense into Willow! Great to see that he has such faith in the young healer (and the other young ones in the tribe), and he showed it to her just when she needed it. The bonding with Sky was sweet, so easy and effortlessly. Good to know that Willow has a new companion at her side, one that she can easily touch and who doesn't demand anything from her (except back scratches and some scraps of food, perhaps).

Blacksnake's "tough love" seems to have been just what the healer ordered - I'm loving the interaction between him and Willow. Seeing Willow realize that Blacksnake maybe doesn't think of everyone but himself as useless is both amusing and touching.

I kinda like the double meaning of the title here. Willow did make two bounds here. One with Sky and one with Blacksnake. I liked the warm cozy feeling this story gave me and I really swoon at the softer side of Blacksnake.
It's good to know Willow had someone looking after her. How bittersweet it tastes knowing she will master and mess up. At last somehow.

This is such a fun read! You've got to appreciate how Blacksnake's the one to step in and apply a clue-by-four to Willow when she desperately needs one -- and his parting words are choice as well! So true to form! Love it!

I like this new perspective on how Blacksnake views the young'ins of the tribe. I also liked how Willow got her new wolf bond! Very sweet. I thought she would get feedback when touching the wolf, too, but I guess since they're harder to heal, it would take some effort to make that connection.

I agree - it's really good to see a softer side of Blacksnake, and this is a good reminder for Willow about her own strengths and limitations.

Heidi, I really like what you've done here! I think it's nice to see the "other side" of Blacksnake! And to see him helping Willow again--he's coming to have a pretty neat role in her development! It's also good to see Willow get a new wolf-friend!
