This is really cute! Your emulation of the style of art is flawless! Great details in the costumes too; I really love how 'out of place' Brightwood's choice ends up being, in the 'joke' and in how different her costume is from the others. Great idea!

I loved the clever idea behind this -- first, that instead of a regular "party" you chose to do a convention masquerade-contest grouping, which seems VERY appropriate for a fan group like this. :) I love that layering, of the suggestion of a group from the RTH tribe also, in a sense, being "fans".

But the best part isn't even the joke (which I think is great, in the way it rewards both in-depth knowledge of ElfQuest and also knowledge of the RTH characters and their histories) -- the part I like best is how you conceived of all of the costumes AS COSTUMES, thinking about how it could work (how do you do a mermaid tail and still walk around a convention?), and how to go about transforming each RTH character into their Wavedancer counterpart. All of the details are just wonderful, from Kestrel's roots showing, to the bald skull-cap that Moss is using. That was a great way to handle the challenge of indicating who the RTH characters are underneath the costumes.

Just all around, a great "answer" to this particular contest challenge!

Yes I got the joke even before you posted it. Wonderful job, love it. Brightwood was in wrap stuff she would not know she was all wrong. Thats is the funniness. Just wondering why One-leg is in this costume?

You did a great job emulating the style of Bill Neville! They all look so cute, and I love the idea of our elves attending a con XD.
The details in this one are great, like all of them wearing flippers and how Brightwood's costume is constructed with the tail. Really love the individual reactions!

For those who dont get the the joke... Tilaweed is a character from Wave Dancers, published in 1993-1994 along side Hidden Years and the other tribe-themed series. It was canceled after 6 issues and removed from continuity after the creative team behind it (Black Mermaid Productions) and Warp Graphics came to irreconcilable differences over the content.

I *think* I get the joke, Tilaweed being from a different Mer-Elf comic. I do like the style, very funny and a clever idea through and through :)

Okay heh.- I get the joke. Very sweet. I like the different expressions. They all have such sweet individual reactions. I like Kestrel's skeptic look and Moss looks so embarrassed here. Also love that One leg mostly seems annoyed while others are just a bit at a loss.
Beetle might be the rudest of the bunch here.
I also just love the way out did dress up Brightwood with the tail and all. It's adorable and such a fun idea. I DO like it when peopkle take the time to come up with a story behind these pictures and don't just make it a "Dressed up as standing around" thing.
