When Pathmark said "Excuse me" outside, for one brief second I wondered if he knew what the brothers were up to, and if Notch and Otter wondered if they were sending or speaking!! LOL... I also love the comedic pause before Notch said, "Where is the fun in that"!

Loved that ending! And getting to see Otter and Notch interact as brothers. The nice tibbits of how others react to Notch's little 'game' (Blacksnake, how typical of you...) and that Starskimmer was the one who made Notch's taal tokens. It was also great to get a reminder of the fact that Starskimmer has no "heir" when it comes to Rock-Shaping.

haha! That was a great little story! I can see Notch being soooo frustrated when its just returned to him without him getting any fun out of it. I love to see how Otter and Notch's relationship is, I really don't think you see enough of it.

Oh boy. This was so much fun! I like the characterization of each brother here. Notch in his playful manner and Otter who just doesn't get his brother. *laugh* he seems to be so much more the practical thinking elf.
I love the idea that Notch keeps himself always challenged and entertained and the last outburst just made me laugh out loud. Sweet Pathmark doesn't even know he ruined his evening.

And at a side note... what a frightening thought of Notch having any magical talent.... shivvers...

Haha, that was fun! Notch is such a fox, I loved his scheming, and it was so cute to see the two brothers interact, with Otter eager to be included but still not swallowing everything he tells him, hook, line and sinker :). And sweet Pathmark - completely destroying Notch's plans just by being his sweet, naive self! Too cute!

As always, it's a blast to see Notch in action! And Notch's comments about the fun he could have if he were to develop stone-shaping ability just leaves me wistful... oh yeah, oh wow, the FUN that would be...

Hehe, I loved the ending! All the planning for nothing because hey, there are fair elves around who just return stuff. I almost felt sorry for Notch :)
Great to see Otter used in a story, we see him too little in them.

Heh. Notch certainly is a character. Is kind of amusing to see how his devious little mind works. :)

What great familial interaction! I often times forget that these two are brothers! It's nice to see some dynamics for them!

Ha! All Notch's planning and plotting gone to waste. Great comic timing here. It's cool to see these brothers spending time together. And I'm so glad Otter isn't falling for Notch's schemes.

I love this story and the insight into Notch! Otter was so cute in this story, also! He's really growing up, and it's good to see that he doesn't fall for everything Notch tells him. :) I hope you'll write more about their sibling interactions!

This was a great follow-up to that taal game! I love the idea of Notch always having extra games going. I also really liked the interaction between the brothers -- how Otter is clearly eager to be included by his older brother, but he isn't a pushover for everything that Notch is selling. (I also really liked the little aside about how either of them might still become a rockshaper someday.) And finally, I love how the ending is cued from Pathmark's characteristic good-nature -- and also, the comic timing is just great.
