I can't get over how odd it is to see Ash/Blacksnake without a beard XD I still recognized him and Axehand/One-Leg though, which I think says a lot about your skill as an artist! And like others have said, the colors of the leaves and the rest of the background is gorgeous!

Any image that 'makes' me go and write a story for it is a great one. This was a very inspiring picture.

This is impressive! Great job with the poses and scenery. I really enjoy seeing the elves at younger times.

Okay I gotta get this out of my system first: To me it looks as if something is a bit off with Melody's neck and arm here (or in general her upper body). Something about it strikes me as "not quite right". The again it's a hard pose to pull off.

Well with that out of the way. I REALLY have to agree with everyone else. The Autumn landscape here is breathtaking. I love the colors and the leaves on the ground, the Threes fading in the background, simply everything about it. It's just wonderful to look at. Autumn is my favorite season and this is a reminder why. Wonderful.

And I love that smirk on Blacksnake's face. He looks so smug and mischievous. Beesting was a favorite of mine from the design and I love her smirk as well. Seems the two of them make a good team regarding their ambitions.
Axehand dose looks a little more relaxed and Melody is just having the time of her live I think. This is just a very fun picture. I really like the idea. (Heheh and I kinda noticed that in the last random contest you had "playing a game" as well ;) )

This looks like such a fun game, and they seem to be having a great time! Makes me want to play! I love the details, and really appreciate the artist's note at the top! Beesting and Ash both look mischievous.

This is a really great, fun picture! I like how you avoid the potential monotany between the two piggy-back riders by making their poses slightly different (not easy -- only so many ways one can ride piggy-back!). Out of all four of them, Beesting stands out as my favorite, though I'm not sure I could actually say why! :D As others have said, the background is very, very lovely. Oh, and I like how the brothers are running slightly differently than each other *because* of their different body sizes/shapes! Like, Ash has to lean forward a bit to balance Beesting, while Axehand seems like he almost doesn't notice Meldoy's weight on his back. And the way you draw them, it suggests smaller, quicker steps with Ash and longer, slightly slower strides from Axehand. (Not sure if I'm right, but it looks that way to me!) Overall, another stunning piece from you. :)

Thanks, folks! My favorite part of doing this was trying to draw Blacksnake in a lanky, teenage way. The thing I like best is the sense that his nose is just a bit too big for his face -- like he hasn't grown into it yet. :)

Actually I had planned to comment on this much earlier, because the background really left me speachless the first time I saw this pic. It is just wonderful... and made me a bit melancholic because it reminded me a lot of my holidays in your part of the world. The stones look very much like those in Sequoia Natl. Forest and the trees and autumn-ish foliage reminds me of the Appalachian mountains.
Additionally, Blacksnakes confident grin makes me grin, too. He can be such a ...., sometimes. ;)
All in all, wonderful pic with lovely drawn characters and beautiful landscape.

This should be a calendar page. It's perfect! The activity, the characters and thier motion and of course, that amazing background....maybe it should be a book cover. It just has a great feel to it and a wonderful quality.

I love these glimpses of Blacksnake/Ash and One Leg/Axehand as young elves! :D Even if it does take a double take to get used to them without facefur. So much fun to see them paired with characters from the past too. Beesting, true to her name, looks 'sharp' - like she has a vested interest in beating the older pair too. Melody looks more like she's just enjoying it! Ash's confidence really shows through that set expression on his face, and Axehand looks like he's taking a more relaxed attitude for the moment. I think the referencing for the background really paid off, this looks incredible - I love the leaf colours against the grey rocks and the pale blue water! Pretty!

I love the energy of this scene in both the posing of the characters and the vibrant colors of the background. My favorite part, though, is probably the look on Blacksnake's face like he knows he can't lose ;)

I have to admit, my favourite thing about this picture has nothing to do with elves and all with me being a total autumn child. The background is absolutely gorgeous! I also love the stream and rocks.

That said, this is a great scene. I especially like Ash and Beesting's expressions - Ash looks very determined while Beesting seems to be quite sure they will win, as she looks very triumphant.
