*jealousy* This is what you call lazy on a background? :D Rill looks so mischievous here! Hopefully Softjoy can help keep him out of trouble... I love how, instead of white or yellow, you highlighted the dark wolf-fur with that burned orange color! It gives her a more soft-furred and less sleek and shiny look which suits her very nicely!

Thanks everyone :) I did have a reference for the wolf to not mess it up. I can tell you it wasn't that easy to find a yearling :P
This was my second take after I completely messed up the first try which vanished into thin air now :P It'm really happy with Rill's look, but I admit the background were kind of where I got really lazy.

I love Rill's perfectly impish look here -- I feel like that is very much *him*. I would tend to agree that this is darker than I think of his hair color as being... but I do like how it's pulled back and emphasizes what a curly mop it is. My favorite part, though, is the background/foreground -- partly just that, how it completely surrounds the two. But also how all the grasses and plants are detailed in the front, but just suggested by the mottled coloring further away, and all the shades of vibrant green creating such a lovely "summer meadow" effect.

Awwww.... :) Rill is such a cutie - though I initially mistook him for a twin brother to Copper b/c of the hair color. Love his grin! The light in his eyes... and Softjoy is so well done. :) Mel, I think you just get better and better! :)

What? I didn't comment on this? Hmmm--WELL, I love the vibrant summer colors and that grass looked like a chore to do. I likd how the young wolf takes his guardian-type responsability seriously. Really captures the moment of childhood fun!

Aww, cute! Rill is looking so innocent, but somehow I have my doubts XD ... And Softjoy looks great, so calm and steady. Great work on the background, too, I bow before your patience for all that grass!

Awesome work on the background! I bow before your patience!
Rill looks so innocent here. Or is he just pretending? ;)
Due to the dark color of his hair (thought he was blond) he looks a bit like a brother of Copper.
Great job again!

Oh Mel, they're lovely! When I looked at the thumbnail I thought you'd taken a photo for the background but I should've known - no such thing XD I love the grin on Rill's face, though I can't really figure out if it's pride or mischief. Probably the last one :-) The wolf looks great, too! Love the dark colors on Softjoy :)

Such an adorable picture! I love Rill's impish grin! :) The coloring is lovely and the picture is so detailed! Softjoy looks so solemn and steadfast, he'll make a perfect wolf-friend for Rill. It's a beautiful image! :)
